LA COMPAÑÍA:
Transnet es una empresa de servicio público de transmisión y transformación de electricidad para lo
cual proyecta, construye, opera, mantiene y comercializa un conjunto de subestaciones de poder y
líneas de transmisión, emplazadas entre las Regiones de Atacama y Los Ríos.
Dichas instalaciones conectan el sistema de transmisión troncal del SIC con las empresas
distribuidoras, generadoras y clientes libres.
Actualmente, cuenta con más de 3.437 kilómetros de líneas, que representan cerca del 40% de las
líneas de subtransmisión del SIC, y 175 subestaciones transformadoras que totalizan 7.379 MVA de
potencia instalada, constituyendo el 32% de la potencia instalada del SIC, cifras que la posicionan
como el principal actor en el sector de la subtransmisión en el país. La energía retirada del sistema de Transnet S.A. durante2015 alcanzó a 13.240 GWh, lo que representa un aumento de 1,7% con respecto al año anterior. Buscando mejorar la confiabilidad y crecimiento del sistema eléctrico, destacan la puesta en servicio de la primera etapa del proyecto denominado “Sistema de Transmisión Copayapu- Galleguillos” en Atacama, la que consideró nuevas subestaciones de 110 KV; el nuevo patio de 66kV de la subestación Fátima, en la Región Metropolitana; y un paño de 66 kV en la subestación Tres Pinos en la zona de Biobío. Además, se reforzó la Línea de Transmisión “Tap El Nevado-Santa Elvira” en Chillán. Éstas y otras obras materializaron una inversión de $43.441 millones en el ejercicio del 2015.
THE COMPANY:
Transnet is an electricity transmission and transformation public service company for which it
projects, builds, operates, maintains and trades a group of power sub-stations and transmission lines, located in the Atacama and Los Rios Regions. Said facilities connect the trunk transmission
system of the SIC to the distributing and generating companies and free clients. The company
currently has 3,437 km of lines, which represent almost 40% of the SIC’s sub-transmission lines,
and 175 transformer substation that total 7,379 MVA of installed power, constituting 32% of the SIC’s installed power. These numbers place the company as the main player in the country’s sub-transmission sector. The energy that is withdrawn from Transnet’s system during 2015 reached
13,240 GWh, which represents a 1.7% increase regarding the previous year.
Wanting to improve the reliability and growth of the electrical system, we can mention the implementation of the first stage of the project called “Copayapu-Galleguillos Transmission
System” in Atacama, which considered new 110 KV sub-stations; the new 66 kV yard of the Fatima sub-station, in the Metropolitan Region; and a 66 kV section of the Tres Pinos sub-station in the Bio Bio area. Additionally, it reinforced the “Tap El Nevado – Santa Elvira” Transmission Line, in Chillan. These and other works materialized a $43,441 million in 2015.
