Acciona Energia Chile SPA is a subsidiary of the Spanish company ACCIONA Energia S.A., world leader in the renewable energy sector with more than 10,000 MW of installed capacity and one of the largest developers and builders of wind farms in the world. It is also the leader in solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, small hydraulic power, biomass and biofuel, being a company horizontally integrated in the field of renewable energy and vertically integrated in wind power. In Chile, it is currently building what will be the largest Photovoltaic Plant in Latin America: El Romero, with a maximum production of 246 MW in the Atacama Region. In the rest of the country, the company is developing a portfolio of renewable projects that exceed 1,000 MW. Acciona Energía is also operating the Punta Palmeras wind farm (45 MW), in the Coquimbo Region, which represented an estimated investment of US$90 million.
