LA COMPAÑÍA:
Fundada en 2008 por un grupo de inversionistas privados, la empresa Hydroventura Chile se centró en sus inicios en identificar posibles proyectos hidroeléctricos de pasada, realizando ingeniería conceptual y análisis de viabilidad económica y negociación de los derechos de agua en oportunidades seleccionadas. En sociedad con Icafal Inversiones para explorar nuevos posibles proyectos hidroeléctricos en Chile, se crea Hidroeléctrica Cumpeo S.A. (HEC), con el fin de desarrollar, construir y operar la Mini-Central del mismo nombre, de 6 MW de capacidad instalada, que está en construcción, y avanzando hasta el comienzo de operación, programado para fines del 2016. La planta generará 30 GWh/año. Por otra parte, la filial de Hydroventura en el Reino Unido desarrolló, construyó y actualmente opera una central mini-hidro de pasada de 380 kW, ubicada en el Norte de Gales. El proyecto completó la etapa de construcción y comenzó la generación en septiembre de 2013 y ha completado casi 2 años de generación, superando los modelos de generación y plan de negocio presentado a sus inversionistas.
THE COMPANY:
Founded in 2008 by a group of private investors, Hydroaventura Chile focused on the identification of potential runof- the-river hydroelectric projects, conducting conceptual engineering and economic viability analysis and negotiation of the water rights in selected opportunities. Together with Icafal Inversiones, in order to explore new potential hydroelectric projects in Chile, the Hidroelectrica Cumpeo S.A. (HEC) was created with the purpose of developing, building and operating the Small Power Station with the same name, of 6 MW of installed capacity, which is now under construction and expected to start its operation in late 2016. The plant will generate 30 GWh/ year. On the other hand, Hydroventura’s subsidiary in the United Kingdom developed, built and is currently operating a 380 kV run-of-the-river small-hydro power station, located in Northern Wales. The project completed the construction stage and started the generation stage in September 2013 and has successfully completed almost two years of trouble-free operation, having exceeded expectations in terms of energy generation and financial projections.
