LA COMPAÑÍA:
Kaltemp, compañía ligada a la familia Boetsch, líder en el rubro de la calefacción y agua caliente, incursionó en los últimos años en la energía solar, enfocándose en la generación y venta de electricidad a base de energías renovables no convencionales (ERNC). Partió en 2009 con varias instalaciones solares térmicas para edificios residenciales, mayormente ubicados en la Quinta Región y en la Región Metropolitana. Hoy, la energía solar representa una buena parte de su portafolio: 26% energía solar, 30% retail y 44% calefacción y agua caliente. En 2013, la empresa inauguró Tambo Real, la instalación fotovoltaica más grande de Chile en ese momento -con más de quince mil paneles fotovoltaicos- y primera planta solar que inyectó energía al SIC. Ubicada en El Tambo, comuna de Vicuña, Región de Coquimbo, tiene una potencia instalada de 3 MW.
THE COMPANY:
Kaltemp, company linked to the Boetsch family, leader in the heating and hot water field, recently explored in solar power, focusing on the generation and trading of electricity based on non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE). It started in 2009 with several thermal-solar facilities for residential buildings, mostly located in the Fifth and Metropolitan Regions. Today, solar power represents a large part of its portfolio: 26% solar power, 30% retail and 44% heating and hot water. In 2013, the company inaugurated Tambo Real, the largest photovoltaic facility in Chile at that time –with more than 15,000 photovoltaic panels- and the first solar plant to inject power to the Central Interconnected System (SIC). Located in the town of El Tambo, in the Vicuña commune, Coquimbo region, it has an installed power of 3 MW.
