KDM Energía S.A. es parte de empresas KDM S.A., filial del Grupo Urbaser- Danner, holding compuesto por la empresa española Urbaser (filial de la compañía ACS) y la estadounidense The Danner Company. Desde 2007, la empresa opera La Central Eléctrica Loma Los Colorados, que genera energía a partir de biogás y se ubica en la comuna de TilTil, Región Metropolitana, 60 km al norte de Santiago. Actualmente, cuenta con una capacidad instalada de 20,4 MW, equivalente a un aporte anual de 140.000 MWh al SIC; y aumentará paulatinamente su capacidad ,hasta alcanzar un total de 33 MW el año 2025. El proyecto ha certifi cado a la fecha un total de 2.341.893 de CERs (CertifiedEmissionReductions), convirtiéndose en uno de las iniciativas más eficientes que operan en Chile, bajo el Mecanismo de Desarrollo Limpio (MDL), establecido en el Protocolo de Kyoto, para frenar el calentamiento global del planeta. La compañía proyecta replicar el modelo en los rellenos sanitarios que posee en Talca y Teno, Región del Maule.
THE COMPANY:
KDM Energia S.A. is part of KDM S.A., subsidiary of the Urbaser-Danner Group, a holding made of the Spanish company Urbaser (subsidiary of the ACS Company) and the American The Danner Company. The company has been operating since 2007 the Central Electrica Lomas Los Colorados, power station that generates energy from biogas, located in the TilTil commune, Metropolitan Region, 60 km north of Santiago. The company currently has an installed capacity of 20.4 MW of electrical power, equal to an annual contribution of 140,000 MWh to the SIC, and it will gradually increase its capacity until reaching a total of 33 MW by the year 2025. To date, the project has certified a total of 2,341,893 CERs (Certified Emission Reductions), becoming one of the most efficient initiatives operating in Chile under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), an instrument established in the Kyoto Protocol to stop the planet’s global warming. The company projects to imitate the model in the landfills owned in Talca and Teno, in the Maule Region.
