Petrobras Chile es parte del Grupo Petrobras, de Brasil, que llegó al mercado chileno de la distribución de combustibles en el año 2009. Está presente en todas las regiones del país, con una red de más de 280 modernas estaciones de servicio. La compañía tiene cuatro plantas de distribución de combustible situadas en: Iquique, Guayacán, Maipú y San Vicente, las que se suman a su participación en cuatro joint ventures en las plantas de Mejillones, Concón, Pureo y Chacabuco, además de la operación de Planta Barquito, propiedad de Codelco. Asimismo, cuenta con presencia en 11 aeropuertos y participa en el Oleoducto Sonacol y en la planta SIAV ubicada en el aeropuerto Arturo Merino Benítez de Santiago. Además, participa en los mercados de lubricantes y retail (Spacio1) Al cierre de nuestra edición (julio 2016),Petrobras Chile Distribución (PCD) vendía el 100% de sus activos en Chile al fondo de inversiones Southern Cross Group, por 464 millones de dólares. El plazo estimado para el fin de la transacción es de entre tres y cuatro meses. Petrobras pretende acometer una reestructuración para reducir su tamaño y hacer frente a la grave crisis que la afecta, debido el escándalo de corrupción del que es protagonista; y para adecuar la empresa a una coyuntura negativa.
THE COMPANY:
Petrobras Chileis part of the Brazilian Petrobras Group, which arrived to the Chilean market of fuel distribution in 2009. It is present in every region of the country, with a network of more than 280 modern service stations. The company has four fuel distribution plants located in: Iquique, Guayacan, Maipu and San Vicente, which are added to its involvement in four joint ventures at the Mejillones, Concon, Pureo and Chacabuco plants, as well as the operation of the Barquito Plant, owned by Codelco. Likewise, it is present in 11 airports and participates in the Sonacol Oil Pipeline and in the SIAV plant located in the Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez Airport. The company also participates in the lubricant and retail markets /Spacio1). At press time (July 2016), Petrobras Chile Distribucion (PCD) sold 100% of its assets in Chile to the Southern Cross Group investment fund, for US$464 million. The estimated period for the end of the transaction is between three to four months. Petrobras intends to carry out a restructuring in order to reduce its size and to deal with the serious crisis affecting it, due to the corruption scandal of which it has been a protagonist; and to adjust the company to a negative situation.
