La Unidad de Desarrollo Tecnológico (UDT) es un centro de I&D dependiente de la Dirección de Investigación de la Universidad de Concepción, cuyo campo de acción es la investigación aplicada y el desarrollo de innovaciones tecnológicas. Se especializa en el desarrollo de tecnologías y productos relacionados con nuevos usos de biomasa forestal, área en la cual ostenta un claro liderazgo a nivel nacional y latinoamericano.
Sus áreas de trabajo son: Biomateriales, Bioenergía, Productos Químicos, Medio Ambiente, Gestión
Tecnológica y Administración. El año 2007, UDT logró un importante reconocimiento por parte de la
Comisión Nacional de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica, CONICYT, al ser favorecida por el
Programa de Financiamiento Basal, que apoya a Centros Científicos y Tecnológicos de Excelencia
(CCTE).
TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT UNIT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CONCEPCION (UDT)
The Technological Development Unit (UDT) is an I&D center that reports to the Research Directorate of the University of Concepcion, which scope is applied research and the development of technological innovations. It specializes in the development of technologies and products related to the new uses of forestry biomass, area in which it holds a clear leadership on a national and Latin American level. Its working areas are: Biomaterials, Bioenergy, Chemical Products, Environment, Administration and Technological Management. In 2007, the UDT achieved an important acknowledgement from National Commission for Technological and Scientific Research, CONICYT, by being chosen by the Basal Financing Program, which supports the Excellence Scientific and Technological Centers (CCTE).
